Art creates itself as it creates us.

Artists are coordinate points that aid in the process.

Art moves from point to point.

All who see art are coordinate points, as well as everything that inspires it.

I let the art create itself. I'm one of the coordinate points it uses. My job is to listen, then materialize what it asks for.

Fiction is truth in disguise. So is painting. Each of these pieces uncovers something about people or society, sometimes an ancient truth that has been waiting to be said again. I rarely know in advance what a painting is going to insist on. I find out by making it.

I also compose music. I write. I work on things outside of art entirely. The painting practice is its own thing, parallel to the others, not braided into them. What they share is a method: I don't impose; I follow.

The works here are digital paintings, made as 1-of-1 originals and occasionally in small editions. Each is the visible record of one of those listenings. I sign them. The chain holds the provenance, but the painting is the point.

If you collect one, you take on a coordinate point too. The work continues to mean something through whoever sits with it longest.

If a piece moves you, write to me.
